Safyan ("we," "us," "our") is operated by AQ Holdings Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Safyan web application, Chrome extension, and API (collectively, the "Service").

By using Safyan, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed version of your password. You may optionally provide your name.

Translation data: We store the text you submit for translation and the resulting output. This data is associated with your account to provide translation history.

Usage data: We collect anonymized usage metrics including translation counts, platform selections, and feature usage. We store IP address hashes (anonymized, non-reversible) for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Billing data: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment information is collected and processed by Stripe. We store your subscription status and plan type but never your full credit card number.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the translation Service
• To store your translation history for your convenience
• To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To send important account-related communications (e.g., password resets)
• To improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized analytics

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by our hosting infrastructure. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

We retain your translation history for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Safyan:

• Stripe — Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• AI Providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek) — Your prompt text is sent to these providers for translation processing. We do not send your email, name, or any personal identifiers to AI providers. Subject to each provider's respective data policies.
• Vercel — Application hosting and serverless infrastructure. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies

Safyan uses essential cookies and local storage to maintain your authentication session and store user preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your translation data is stored solely for your use and is not used to train AI models.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Safyan, our users, or the public.

7. Your Rights

• Access: You can view your account information and translation history within the app.
• Correction: You can update your account information at any time.
• Deletion: You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
• Portability: You can export your translation history from the app.

If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Children's Privacy

Safyan is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending an email. Your continued use of Safyan after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
